colors of my day: 7.11.2012.

these days: 100 in 100 is on!

100 in 100.  it's on. 100 square inches.  it was a thought, almost an inspired call.  i'm called to create.  i'm called to minister.  i'm called to share.  i made a comment about wanting to do 100 mixed media paintings in 100 days and the interest was instant.  i started the list of 100 calling it the 100 club.  some have chosen certain numbers to represent anniversaries or birthdays while others just want their piece, whatever the number it ends up being.  i'm creating each original work of art to be a color story of its own with vintage goodness layered between paint, oil pastels, pencil, and ink.

oh, my.  i'm already in love.

the first in the 100 club has requested a beautiful bit of wisdom "share joy relentlessly" with extra greens in the color story.  she may love this piece or another.

i find with this work that you'll know yours when you see it.  and i believe you will.  each of these will become a network of love and wisdom.  as you follow their creation here on the blog or on instagram ((@slsvinson)), you'll see what comes to life through color, texture, and word.

i am so very excited.  all this good work and energy is pouring from within.  there's so much bubbling out that i. must. share.  and this is where i feel called to share right. now.   with you...

you'll place your own story into the piece as you witness it, adding your own blessing/good energy/delight to the work itself.  you'll be breathing into these works your goodness.  can you imagine?  these will carry such goodness into homes, offices, or others spaces that aim to delight!

there's so much more to come!  i'll officially "begin" on july 1st, but i'm warming up before then with a few paintings.  these aren't all going to be created in the same day as they're started, though i want to aim to complete one each day.  there are so many layers that go into each piece they need time to rest.  ((much like daily bread.))

a new project: the 100 club.

i have set a goal:  100 mixed media paintings in 100 days.  $100 each.  

10x10 inch canvas or wood.  ((that's 100 square inches.)) 

this is an ambitious undertaking.  it's also a collaboration between you + me.  i want these to be brought into the world with color and life.  are you called to put one in your home, office, or space?  to have life, these must be planted in the world.   they're like quilt blocks in a giant quilt that will be shared.  i'm so excited and ready to move forward!  

if you're so moved/called/interested in investing in the 100 club, please contact me.  i'd love to have you  in this group!  each will be numbered, signed, and dated. and a handfull have been claimed in the first 24 hours of sharing the plan.  i hope this project has the life i believe it will.  i'll post photos as each come to be!

the fine print:  you choose: canvas or wood, color story, and word(s) of wisdom.  you pay the shipping, unless local to RVA and can arrange pick up with me at the studio.  these paintings are normally $125 and take multiple days to create.  rather than one painting a day, the paintings will be made in batches over the 100 days, with some on the 3rd layer while others on the first, etc.

speaking wisdom on called to create.

wisdom comes in many forms.  gentle whispers. words from a kindred spirit.  that inner knowing.  your gut instincts.  a song.  sometimes you just know.  sometimes we listen while other times we dismiss.  

in 2012, i'm sitting and listening.  i'm painting and listening.  i'm leaning into her words and welcoming her in all forms.  and then i'm sharing by speaking wisdom.

standing in the light of my truth.  i love tonic water with lime.
it's cool, crisp and refreshing.
my memories return to summer and this leo heart is calmed.

i also see i need to repaint my nails.  this polish has been with me the longest, is the smelliest and thickest polish i own.  let's say, this is the last i'll be wearing it and i've loved its golden shade.

and i love friends who share from their abundnace to meet needs.  a dear soul provided my family with a brand new cuisinard blender.  i will praise this delightful person again and again, sending blessing each time i use this fantastic tool.  hummus made for our family's lunches this week.
