something for the ones you love

i've been wanting to add some sweet art that's *free* as a gift from me to you. i benefit from the generosity of others who share their work, and i wanted to give you something to celebrate the big day-of-love coming up, or just any ol' day. there are two ways to share this sweet image, hand cut and designed by me.

the large card download is a jpg card that can be printed on a 8.5 x 11 and folded in half. the mini card download contains a jpg of 9 cards on a 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, even paper from the recycling bin. these are meant to be shared, so print them up and give them out. feel free to spread the word by linking folks here. enjoy!  i've shared these a little differently, so do tell me if the resolution is poo.  xo.

pikapackage march + what's in the works

let me just tell you, i'm exited to be included in the march pikapackage!  it's a great introduction to some really good work of artists + illustrators.  you'll see a small assortment of my lino-printed cards + images included in the first post installment (#7).   i've been a fan of the pikapackage site + concept for quite some time.  as a part of participating, i'll receive my own package!  i'll share picts when it's here.  in the meantime, salivate!  these works are awesome!  amy will post more march participants to her blog in further installments.

i've been working on a shop update with a new block print + printables (downloadable pdf files that you can print on your own) featuring block prints + hand drawn images.  mine will include cards of different sizes, gift tags, sayings, and invites.  these make me happy.  what a fun way of sharing.  you can use recycled paper to print them on, cardstock, or colored papers.  you're in charge.  i've had a little glitch in releasing these as my printer is on the fritz and i must photograph samples.  will need to move to a plan B for printing and push to an april release for printables in my shop.

sarah of the small object came out with a rockin' invite (see how cool?) also has some AWESOME printables in her shop.  i've purchased 2 of hers and love them!    sarah's rockin' invite is available here as a free download.  how fun!  you know i love sarah's work, and her free downloads are a must for any crafty soul. i always LOVE her creativity as expressed through her blog + art.  happy birthday, sarah!

cheers!

creative spaces

whew.  what a morning.  i've just sent off two dozen of my morning muffins for a bake sale at VCU Medical Center to support the bereavement programs of the hospital.   my friend Ann asked me to make these and contributed to the supplies.  i love that it's shared work!  and while wrapping each of these i was inspired for project ideas for some of the bereavement groups that i will lead in the next year.  giving spaces can bring creativity.

when writing to the o-so-talented jurianne matter about her beautiful paper boats and banners this weekend, she responded with good things to say about my work, too.  creative spaces bring connection no matter the distance.

my sermon's theme from sept. 7th around tying knots.  these paper boats are a way of thinking about how things are joined together, especially when you're writing good wishes or blessings on them before folding.  they are a must have.  when they're available in the states for purchase, i'll write about it.  back to the sermon:  i'll be posting a copy of the knot sermon for those who wish to read it on the YCW ning site.  if you are saying, what's YCW? then you'll need to ask me to email it to you if you wish to read it.

it's beautiful how there are spaces in our lives where we connect with one another.  my creative spaces bring such joy and life into my life.  i do my art for my self--feeding my soul--but i take great joy in sharing that part of myself with others.  i want others to carry home the colors and designs so that they, too, can be fed.  thus, i am meeting you in these creative spaces and sending love your way.

enjoy some of my concentric circles in this image.  i love them.  love making them so much i added some to a purse for auction.  more to come...

peace to you this day.
