happy thanksgiving

fall. trees. leaves. colors.

i am always impressed by the beautiful colors of fall. each day on my commute, especailly the a.m. drive, i enjoy the colors along i-64. i'm trying to keep myself focused on the NOW and not the WINTER that will come, must come, in order for the life to come again in spring. seasons are so good and useful, but some seasons (WINTER) sure do affect my mind, body, and spirit in ways that i don't look forward to! so, for today, i express gratefulness and thanks for the beautiful colors of fall. i express thanks for friends and family. for joseph and richard as joseph is asleep in r's lap... for the sunday we have together...the sunday before we travel to see some family, cook good food, eat good food, and enjoy more fall colors.

What fun to see those who were able to come to the Open House at Hunter Lange Antiques and Vinatge Chic. I had a blast and have plenty to think about purchasing from being at Kathy's shop. So, if you weren't able to make it, go by Hunter Lange anytime they're open...my goodies are there through the holidays. Christmas Open House & Jewelry Cheer

THIS weekend, November 9 & 10th, the Merchants of Lakeside Avenue will have their annual Christmas Open House. LOTS of fun. LOTS of cheer. I'm excited to invite all who enjoy the holidays to the festivities. My work will be at Hunter Lange Antiques & Vintage Chic. Do come. I plan to be present Saturday early afternoon. Details: Friday Night: Nov. 9th: 5:00-9:00 p.m. Refreshments & Live Entertainment. apple pie

remember those apples we picked? i have made the pie that will make our cheeks happy to be our cheeks, our taste buds will purr. my friend susan has given this pie recipe as a gift -Pinky's Apple Pie- though i have done a disservice, since i didn't do the beautiful lattice work with the top layer of crust...alas...i have created my own for this pie. a "citrus pattern" of cuts in the top crust.
